SELF HELP WITHOUT IMPLEMENTATION

Hi everyone and happy new year! I want to thank you first of all for continuing to read and follow my blog. I hope this year brings you everything you could possibly desire plus more.

Since it is a new year I wanted today to touch base about self-help. Self-help is an interesting journey I am sure you all have been on at one point or another in your life. The thing about self-help is that there is so much stuff out there you can learn and take it. This is a blessing yet a curse. Trying to sift through all the information and finding relevant information that is actually helpful can be a real journey.

Now, once you find the self-help that is actually helpful the question is how do you apply the self-help information that you have learned?

Every new year we try to better ourselves, particularly with more emphasis on the first few months. Where you may start trying to work out more, become more outgoing, get a raise, learn to talk to others, make more money, whatever it may be. I started my own journey of reading self-help books and bettering myself when I was around 19 years old. I grew up in such a small town that I had never discovered these books and when I did I became obsessed.

I was trying to learn all new information about body language, confidence, psychology, mind power, business, motivation, healing you name it I have probably touched base on the topic in one book or another. Now I was obtaining so much information and getting so excited about all the changes I could make internally by tapping into my inner self, manifesting my life, and on and on.

However, I was not actually implementing anything I was learning long enough to make it effective.

I was getting upset with the results yet, I was obtaining information but not fully applying any of it. I listen to this podcast as often as it comes out called the “Mindset Mentor” by Rob Dial https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-mindset-mentor/id1033048640 . I found him on YouTube about 5 years ago and I listened to probably 50 of his videos. It was all such amazing information, yet I was not taking action to do any of it that I had been learning.

So this new year as you go about obtaining your new goals, remember it isn’t about how much information you know. It is about how you apply the information you learn.

Someone could have all the knowledge in the world in their head, yet their life hasn’t changed one bit as he/she hasn’t actually implemented any of it. Now you on the other hand could have learned one simple skill and applied it to your life. It could make a real difference in how you live your life and in the progress that you wish to obtain.

If all this self-help information was applied right away then there wouldn’t be a need for all these different speakers, books, podcasts, lectures, etc.

We are creatures of habits and fall prey to reverting back into our old ways of living.

Change is uncomfortable, but without it growth is stagnant. So, get comfortable with the uncomfortable and apply self-help as much as you take it in.

Remember life is a journey, not a destination.

Now go accomplish your goals and desires and live your best life!.
