“I Can Do This”

Hi everyone, happy Wednesday! I hope you are having a great week so far as always! This topic I have been wanting to write about for quite a while and this week finally felt like the right time to do so.

How many things do you put off or not do because you keep telling yourself you can’t do them?

I am sure it is way more than you wish to admit. Trust me I am just as guilty. A lot of times the things you have been putting off are not actually as hard to accomplish as you think. In fact….

you might be spending more of your time, energy, and emotional capacity thinking about the torture of accomplishing the task rather than if you had dived right in and accomplished what you needed to.

Our minds can play all kinds of tricks on us and I found a way that can help you feel more psychologically motivated to push through to get more check marks onto your list. I was working out a few months ago and my body was physically exhausted and I found myself shaking my head no like “I can’t do this anymore.” However, I decided at that moment to shake my head yes following my normal no reaction. I instantly felt more able to accomplish my workout and keep pushing through. Now, this got me thinking and then ultimately researching. The science that I found was even more interesting.

According to an article by science.org “head movements may be influencing a person’s own thoughts.”

How crazy is it that such a small little gesture can make the world of a difference? Now I am not saying shaking your head yes once will make all your procrastination and negative emotions away following your willpower.

You will have to continue to fight against your own will and mind trying to tell you you can’t do what you are set out to do.

Yet, this is a step in a positive direction. It’s time to take over control of your mindset, take over your thoughts of negativity, and start to push yourself immediately to go into action. If you set out to accomplish things as soon as they pop into your head, you will not only be more productive but you will have so much more time to focus on other things in your life and pursue new tasks or things you wish or need to accomplish.

So, today when you are starting to feel like you can’t do something: shake your head yes. Sure it might sound crazy, but it will psychologically make you more able to be more successful in your daily life.

Don’t let your mind control your life leading you into a downward spiral or to a standstill.

Don’t live another day too lazy to start accomplishing what you need or wish to. Make today the day you start to face situations head-on and become more productive and successful today. You got this! Shake your head yes right now, and go out and get shit done.
